Welcome to the BAFS Concert Season
Winter 2018 / 2019

We’re thrilled to be bringing some of this country’s most exciting musicians to Banstead
this season, from solo virtuosi - pianist Ashley Fripp and violinist Emmanuel Bach - to
chamber ensembles with major reputations, the London Bridge Trio and the Castalian
Quartet.

Superb music-making in the pleasantly intimate space and acoustic of the Community Hall
is guaranteed, and with programmes centred on a roll-call of such composers as Bach,
Haydn, Mozart, Schubert, Chopin, Schumann, Brahms and Elgar, there is much to inspire
and delight.

We look forward to seeing you.
Stephen Oliver, Chairman

ANNUAL GENERAL MEETING at BANSTEAD DAY CENTRE, THE HORSESHOE MONDAY 24th SEPTEMBER 2018, 8.00 pm

We would be delighted to welcome as many members as possible. The formal meeting will be followed by wine and light refreshments, with the opportunity to talk informally with your committee and fellow members.

Saturday 17th November 2018 - 7.30 pm

EMMANUEL BACH, violin ALEXANDRA VADUVA, piano

Eblana

Violinist Emmanuel Bach, winner of the Royal Overseas League String Competition earlier this year, and award-winner at many more, is a rising star equally at home as concerto soloist and chamber musician. One of Bach's most sublime solo violin sonatas begins the evening, after which Emmanuel is joined by multi-prize winning Romanian pianist Alexandra Vaduva for major sonatas by Schubert and Poulenc and salon delights by Debussy and Saint-Saëns.

Supported by the Countess of Munster Musical Trust
